A vow of sorts

We need to find a path to a condition in which surrender and individual power are contained in the same act. The need for this condition can be found on many levels, from the micro to the macro. From the deepest sense of self in relationship with the conscious or even submerged flow of ego to the broader sense of self in relationship to community and friends, it is only by stretching our imaginations, by trying that suit on so to speak, that we can begin to live with a strong sense of self in close union with others. When one opens their heart to a friend they are more themselves that probably any other time. True friendship requires a chastity of understanding, that does not cling, but listens, abides. This is my starting line...

beautiful
an abiding chastity of understanding. yeah.
Yes beautiful, we may have to stretch our imaginations by “trying on that suit” which then turns out to be our true nature. Thank you and let the stretching begin!
“We need to find a path to a condition in which surrender and individual power are contained in the same act.”
I have found through surrendering I become empowered. It is the “getting there” which challenges me sometimes - a lot of the time! Our relationships are mirrors for the one we have with ourself and with the Divine.
Thanks for these words. I like posts which make me contemplate my navel. This one did.
Yeah otter, we are in the navel academy here, aren't we? Right OK. A lime green leisure suit would be good right about now. Thanks for your kind remark Savitri. And Laura, yeah, an abiding chastity of understanding. The key.
Lime green! Oooh, that is a stretch but something makes me think that you could pull it off with panache.
